Dad's 70th Birthday cake

This was a fruit cake soaked with maderia, that kept my dad happy for a few weeks, well it was the end of February so he had already finished the christmas cake. Obviously the small figure is not my Dad, as if he would ever rest in the garden!

Venetian Mask cake

This was for an artistic friend, so I modelled a venetian mask and painted it with golds and burgandy, and draped a sugar paste cloth over the cake balancing the mask ontop, amazingly nothing fell off either!

When Jennie asked me for a horse's head cake, I was thinking mafia and lots of jam, but I think this was slightly more appropriate for a 4 year old. A vanilla sponge with raspberry jam and buttercream, there was just enough left for Mum and Dad.
